Canford Crossing B&B - ABOUT US

Whilst neither of us was born in Dorset, we have lived in the county for over 20 years and as registered Ambassadors for Dorset, we know Wimborne and the surrounding areas well.  So are more than happy to suggest itineraries to make the most of your stay in Dorset should you so wish.

Until 2013, Diane worked for a local authority and prior to that worked in the hospitality industry.  Terry has extensive IT experience; his most recent project was developing an incident management system for local authorities to use during the 2012 London Olympics. Both of us camped on the outskirts of London for the duration of the games and experienced first hand the atmosphere in the capital, but it was good to get back to the peace and tranquillity of Dorset!

We are involved in a range of charities including:

RNLI – the headq06-07-2014 10-14-26uarters and training college is located in Poole, only 8 miles away.  Tours of the college can be booked in advance and there is also a bar and restaurant which is open to the public and offers great views over Poole harbour.

Guide Dog Training – we currently support06-07-2014 10-05-28
Buddy during his 2 year training programme to become a guide dog.

SOS Children’s Villages – for nearly 06-07-2014 10-09-0010 years, we sponsored Ellen who lived in one of the SOS Children’s Villages in Liberia.  In 2015 Ellen returned to live with a member of her own extended family and so has left the SOS Children’s Village.  We have decided though to continue with our support of the Children’s Village in Monrovia – the capital of Liberia.
